The Air Force School is a co-educational institution, which was established in 1955 as a temporary base during the wartime for the children of army officers and airmen. The school shifted its base to the current location at Subroto Park, New Delhi much later in 1965. Unlike other schools, The Air Force School encourages education through exploration and provides least importance to the typical method of literal educational methods The school makes use of audio and visual methods to make the learning a more effective experience. The school is a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) and of National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC). Individual coaching and adequate sports and games training are provided to students at all level.

Curriculum
|
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in both X and XII standards. And prepares the students abiding by the board syllabus. The school conducts its daily procedures in English but provides adequate importance to other regional languages too. Sanskrit is a compulsory subject for students from VI - VIII standards. The school is primarily divided into the senior and the junior wing.

Studies are made fun in the institute by various methods and one of them is the House system. Students are divided into five different houses and work as a team for their respective house. -
